Your First Visit to Our Kensington Practice

Kensington chiropractic patients are always warmley welcomed!

We try to make your first visit at our office as comforting and easy as possible. When you walk in our door, you will be greeted with a smile. Please sign in at the front desk. You will be given some paperwork to fill out. This paperwork gives us an idea of what you are experiencing and what your general state of health is like. Please bring your insurance card with you, as we will need to make a copy for our records.

When an exam room is ready, you will be brought back to speak with the doctor. In order to pinpoint what is going on, the doctor will spend some time talking to you about your pain. We will want to know things like how long have you had it, and how it began. We will also have you describe what it feels like.

We have on-site X-ray facilities at our Kensington practice.

In this office, we perform several different exams to help us uncover the issues behind your symptoms. The first exam is called a surface EMG and thermography. It is a computerized exam that will show areas of increased swelling as well as muscle tightness. It is a very quick, simple exam that is very gentle. We will also see how much movement you are able to do and what types of movements make the symptoms worse. Our exams are designed to be as easy and pain-free as possible. We will examine the area for swelling, "knots" and lack of movement. Based upon what the doctor is finding, x-rays might be recommended.

When your exam is completed, we will want to see you again to go over our findings. You will make this appointment at the front desk on your way out.

Kensington chiropractic patients appreciate that we explain everything in advance!

Dr. Donald Asks some important questions of interest to Kensington residents - Chiropractor Kensington Dr. Donald Asks...

Can those with osteoporosis get chiropractic care?
Of course. When developing a care plan, we consider the unique circumstances of each patient. There are many ways we can adjust the spine. The chiropractic method we select will be best suited to your age, size and unique situation.
How could a child benefit from chiropractic?
Regardless of our age, each of us in Kensington encounters physical, chemical and emotional stresses that exceed our ability to handle. For newborns, it could be the trauma encountered at birth. For toddlers it could be from learning to walk or ride a bike. Many of the problems we chiropractors see in adults are the result of neglected traumas from childhood.
